This activity helps couples notice the things that feel “obvious” to them in a relationship, and see where those expectations might differ.
Step 1: What feels obvious to you
Prompt: “In a relationship, what just feels obvious to you?”
Each person selects up to three:
Making time for each other
Checking in during the day
Noticing when something is off
Helping without being asked
Following through on plans
Saying thank you / showing appreciation
Being on the same page socially
Making decisions together
Giving each other space
Remembering important things
Step 2: Compare
