Activity: What Feels Obvious

Overview

This activity helps couples notice the things that feel “obvious” to them in a relationship, and see where those expectations might differ.

Step 1: What feels obvious to you

Prompt: “In a relationship, what just feels obvious to you?”

Each person selects up to three:

  • Making time for each other

  • Checking in during the day

  • Noticing when something is off

  • Helping without being asked

  • Following through on plans

  • Saying thank you / showing appreciation

  • Being on the same page socially

  • Making decisions together

  • Giving each other space

  • Remembering important things

Step 2: Compare

Display both people’s selections side by side.

Highlight:

  • Where you overlap

  • Where you differ
